London May 25 Prime Minister Lloyd George defended the Genoa conference before the House of Commons saying it will ultimately succeed. He warned that failure would make Europe’s position tragic and cited the danger from Rus sian aggression if non aggression truce fails.
Paris reports ocean transport experts puzzled by moving the Pantheon de la Guerre canvas to New York for a world tour. Washington May 26 The nationwide coal strike has driven prices up at mines across the country from 26 to 80 percent with some grades doubling, despite Secretary Fleaver warning no justification for increases. National Coal Association statistics in its magazine show most coal prices rising since April 1.
Reports from New York describe Signor Vaugean's airship with three concentric hulls and a possible 18 hour New York London run. Charles Pe Gee Deak died May 14 1922 at his brother Sam Gee’s home on Whittier Boulevard California after two years of ill health. A dry goods clerk by trade he worked in St Louis Chicago and Indianapolis and had formerly lived in Moberly. He is survived by BR Gee of Arnolds Park Iowa and Sac T Dea of Whittier Boulevard Pico California. Cremation at lyvergreen cremery.

An explosion at the Equitable Power Company's plant in Alton Illinois today leveled a building and killed Be. O. Mess employee E. O. Hess. About 4000 pounds of powder detonated sending shock waves for miles. No other injuries were reported and the cause remains undetermined.
