Alexander Mitchell died at Whoom yesterday at the residence of his son in law Ash Powell near Renick. He was 88 years old and one of Randolph county s oldest citizens. He had been a Missouri resident since arrival and was a member of the M J church. He leaves four children Mrs Ash Powell Mrs A H W Shearer and Mrs Robert Goins of this city and Mrs D B Dugersall of California Mo The funeral will be from the Powell home at 9 30 tomorrow Rev B S Campbell will conduct the service and the remains will be interred in Oakland cemetery at Maberly Joe Lang Jr is out again after a brief illness.
Judge Alex Waller and his wife reportedly took a bus trip yesterday in a small Texas town setup. Notable farmer Cottingham from Rene was seen in the area as local residents assisted with a neighborhood effort near Rene. Harry Stoker suffered a foot burn while aiding in removing foods from a burning house on Monday night. Mrs. Syl Kink of Hunteville visited Lylora and Mr and Mrs Heilemann with friends in attendance.
