At the general assembly in Mobile Alabama the overtures from Buffalo were read and a reply adopted praising closer relations and Providence led union. The move signals potential reconciliation between the two adjacent Presbyterian bodies.

Afternoon crowd of about eight hundred watched the Moberly Signals rout the St Louis Arithmometers 13 to 5 at Miller's Park. Edwards backed by strong hits led the way while Patterson and Meleen added drives as St Louis pitchers allowed fifteen safeties. Next Sunday the Signals meet the Kansas City Athletics in a key intercity clash with a big excursion planned from Kansas City.

John A McDaniel born March 28 1819 in Jin Page county Tennessee died May 7 1904 after a week of paralysis. He moved to Randolph Missouri as a child married Martha A Walden on his twentieth birthday and had fourteen children ten living. A respected elder of Cumberland Presbyterian Church Sugar Creek near Moberly Missouri he later moved to Alumtion Kansas March 6 1885 where he resided until death. Funeral held at U S church conducted by Rev Scovil and burial at Aden cemetery. He is mourned by wife children and Randolph County friends. Also noted Harmett Gaw jailed thirty days for theft related offenses and Chas Buskelt fined for disturbing the peace. banker Mr Atterberry of Madison en route to St Louis for bankers convention.
Rail employees and families in Moberly report moves and layoffs as Wabash lines adjust staffing. Conductor Kippenbrock returned to duty after injury. several workers depart for other jobs. The Pennsylvania Railroad plans 11,000 layoffs next week amid shrinking business. wage pool remains intact. Edward John dies in Staunton after being crushed between coaches. Burlington appoints new regional passenger agents west and east of the Missouri, effective June 1. Two Wabash trains nearly collide near Ruddy curve Friday evening in a near-miss.
J B Barnes, Wabash master of inventive power, returns from Philadelphia with sixty seven locomotives in production at Baldwin Loco Motive Works. Thirty seven passenger, twenty freight, ten switch engines, all top type. Deliveries set for June or July. Barnes with Chief Draughtsman M R Goutant and three inspectors: Harry Ettinger, Fred Rentschier, and John Joughes. Railroads and shops plan large layoffs.
On the day Mr Barnes departed Philadelphia about four thousand Baldwin Locomotive Works employees were let go leaving 10,000 still employed. The Pennsylvania Railroad system west of Pittsburgh laid off 10,000 workers and may be idle for months. The Santa Fe Railroad also reduced staff by several thousand.
Beginning in June residents north of the Wabash bridge yard and along the prairie toward North Morley street will receive free rural delivery by rural carrier No. 3. Citizens praise Postmaster Scott for securing the service for them.
Judge B S Head is a candidate for the office of justice of the peace succeeding the late Judge W S Boulware. C O Moore is mentioned in connection with the place. The county court will appoint a successor at an early date.
Jarvis returned to Slater this afternoon after attending the funeral of their relative Judge W Soulware.
oe Roney and her mother of Goss attended the funeral of Judge W S Boulware today and plan to visit relatives for a week or two.
Mrs J W Riley travels from Jacksonville to her home today after a visit with R R Haynes and family and a trip to St Louis.
