An announcement from Ancon Panama Area says the cornerstone laying for the Gorgas Memorial building has been postponed to February 4, 1928. The delay follows advice from Admiral Bristled and others as a large group from the American College of Surgeons visits plans for a Panama clinic and the ceremony will be part of their tour. The building near Santo Tomas Hospital will focus on tropical medicine and sanitation and will include laboratories and offices with an estimated cost of about $500,000.
In Ancon Panama May 12 a girl was fined twenty dollars by a village justice for refusing to marry. On appeal the superior court revoked that sentence and fined the justice two dollars eighty cents for negligence and irregularity. The girl’s father had sued a village youth for seducing her. The justice had ordered the couple married but the girl refused.
A court ordered BR new trial in the criminal case concerning the girl's abduction. The proceedings focus on the se ducer charges and related evidence presented to the judge and jury.

Rocheport Mo May 12 a posse of 100 with Strumpter hounds from Moberly hunted the country near Rocheport for two bandits who robbed the Rocheport People's Bank of 300 to 300 yesterday. They fled in an automobile as T B Busfield fired on them. Suspects believed to be hiding in hills caves. Mrs R Lewis returned from St Louis with daughter and relatives.
Paris May 1 The Russian note to the Genoa allies was called utterly unacceptable by Premier Poincare who said France will not participate further in the political sub committee and will stay only for economic questions. Genoa May 12 Foreign Minister Schanzer said Russia will not enter the non aggression pact and the conference will focus on consolidating Europe’s peace.
Dempsey and Carpentier, heavyweight champions, signed articles to fight in Europe before June 1923. An English syndicate offered about £100,000 for the bout, announced by Jack Kearns, Dempsey’s manager.

Eddie Collins Chicago captain called the charge bunk and said no fund was raised by White Sox players to buy victory.
Clyde Miller Fred Priesmeyer and Frank B Forney to be released from a bond signed for Vern Bunridge and his father. The bond amount cited is seven thousand six hundred dollars. Bunridge’s father stated he would go on the bond to release the three former bondsmen. The report centers on bond release actions proceeding from the case.
