Street Car Line Purchases North West Moberly Lots
The Moberly and Missouri Street Railway Company paid for two northwest Moberly lots from Dr. Th A Cottingham and Geo Cox. Joseph Clark gave a sight draft via Rumsey at Mechanics Bank, funds collected after Rumsey’s return from out of city. The $75,200 ground will host a power house with switches and sheds to serve cars between Moberly and Huntsville and supply mine power.

Captain A. W. Martin Dies After Long illness
Captain A W Martin aged about 78 died at 11 this morning at 615 Adams avenue from Brights disease. He lived in Moberly since 1877 after Civil War service as a captain. He leaves a wife, mother and two children and was active in church and Masonic orders. Funeral from the M E church Sunday afternoon with Masonic and other lodge conduct. Burial in Oakland.

Mission Board Adjourns After Short Missouri Conference Session
The midyear meeting of the Board of Missions of the Missouri conference of the Methodist church, South, adjourned in Mexico after a brief session due to illness among members. The extension of city missions was discussed but no action. next meetings in Palmyra in September will host a joint session with the Missouri conference. Rev. R. Campbell of this city led the deliberations.
