Will not join the Board of Control of the State Industrial Home for Girls. W T Dameron of Wantsville, appointed last week by Governor Stephens to succeed J S Stephen son, says he has received no official notice and will decline due to personal business. The notice mentions a local address at Polson's store on Johnson Street.
The Younger Brothers pardon bill, favoring passage, was approved by the Minnesota Senate committees and later by a Senate vote of 27 10 18 and 24 3 15. The measure drew intense public and senatorial interest, with broad in-district support and strong prospects to reach the House for fate and action.
Local cigar dealers protest a revenue ruling effective April 1 that bars selling leaf tobacco except by case or bale.
