Mrs. Scrivner arrived home from Jefferson City on Wabash No. 11. She said B W Scrivner, plant engineer of the Merberly Light and Power Co, had left without explanation after writing a letter saying he was leaving. The couple had no known quarrel and she is unsure of his destination.
William Allen White denounces Emporia city pounds ads paying boys 25 cents to bring stray dogs for killing. He questions city officials and contrasts the cruel scheme with boys mowing lawns for money, arguing it harms the town’s youth image.
A sub-contract crew arrived at Muntsville to grade the North Cross State Highway from Huntsville to Clifton. Delays arose from late machinery, with about twelve tents set up west of town. The road runs 0.38 miles, re-routing to bypass two railroad crossings, with total mile cost 66 502.7 dollars and contract price 41 507.30, contractor A P Munson of Marion Town.
At the ninth convention of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen held in Houston Texas delegates adopted a resolution denouncing Warren G Harding as an enemy of labor. Los Angeles reports suggest plans to reopen the bigamy case against Rudolph Valentino the film actor, citing dissatisfaction with the verdict that acquitted him. District Attorney says witnesses were subpoenaed to appear before the grand jury.
President Warding dedicates the Princeton monument honoring Washington and the crossing of the Delaware. He declares the real monument to victory lies in liberty and representative government, urging dedication to the cause and the spirit of sacrifice shown at the battle site.

Washington D C The House today carried a new radio control measure introduced by Representative White of Maine. It follows a Hoover Secretary and Harding recommendation from the recent radio conference. The plan limits big sending stations while amateur radio fans face few changes. A government radio board of two members would operate under the secretary of commerce.
A package left at the merchant levy by a surprised man Mor tiey Taevy yields three dolls. When activated the dolls uttered maternal calls, shocking him and prompting him to exhibit the novelty sample to customers at his bachelor shop. The incident is treated as a humorous prank or publicity stunt.
Admiral Kato, minister of the navy in the Takahashi cabinet, was summoned to the palace and asked to form a new government. He expressed unwillingness to be premier but is believed to likely accept the mandate from Prince Regent Hirohito. In a separate matter, W. W. Blodget satisfied a bank claim by mortgaging another team, wagon, and harness.
