A fragmented report describes a wage dispute at the shoe factory with workers delayed on pay. It notes committee actions, city venue, and a related family incident on Roberts Street as workers struggle amid hardship.
Edward S Paro, a longtime Moberly resident, died this afternoon after a lingering illness. He was 60 and is survived by a wife and several children. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery with funeral services at the residence on New Street. The note of his passing recalls a life of integrity, devotion to family, and generous community involvement.
Sunday Methodist picnic attracted scholars and families from the Fourth Street and Northeast Northwest districts to Green Torrills. A crowd enjoyed a full day with races and a fried chicken dinner as the highlight, with many arriving by noon and sharing the meal on the white cloths spread on the ground.
Miss Hiettie Aurr led the district at the St Louis area gathering in the north Missouri session. The program included welcome, minutes, reports, and county work as delegates from towns such as Kansas City Brookfield Kirksville Marceline and others prepared for funeral services for the late HS Pare Robertson and colleagues in Arthur Division No 560.
Miss Audrey Stephens entertained O. C. club members and guests at a bankings party at her South Mourth Shrect home. The evening featured games and chat, followed by a luncheon at midnight. Attendees included Georgia Dulanvy, Sadie Bassett Noonan, May Bolan Noonan, Mabel Jeffries, Meta Gither, Susie Neynald, and others.
