Balmy morning drew many to Sabbath school and morning service where Rev Raither delivered an uplifting sermon. The North League met under the pastor with a notable session as Robert Garry of New York led a Bible reading on Prayer. The male quartet, including Rev Gaither and Huckeby, sang at both services boosting gospel living. A baby boy was born to Mrs Harry Ward on Morehead Street with Dr Cottingham officiating. mother and child in good health.

A violent quarrel over a cow near Middle Grove led to Tom Thompson fatally stabbing his son in law James Riley. Riley shot Thompson in return, dying shortly after, while Riley was badly wounded and not expected to survive. Thompson and Riley families are prominent in the area, and the tragedy has cast a gloom over the neighborhood.
Reed Street near the Bank of Mossberry saw a street brawl between Luther Bartlett and Louis Steiger. Both men were involved. Steiger received fifty days work on the streets and Bartlett was fined five dollars plus costs.
