I Tu Hogan hosted about twenty five gentlemen at his West Street residence to honor his forty seventh birthday with a six o clock dinner. The event featured a carefully curated menu served by his children Helen Lee and Ralph, decorated in national colors to honor Washington's birthday.
A six oclock birthday dinner hosted by Mr and Mrs Tedford on West Welling Street honored Mr Tedford born February 22, sharing Washington etching as a theme. Guests included relatives and intimate friends, with Mrs Tedford famed for cuisine and ample wines, ending with warm good wishes. Ella Adkisson hosted a separate George Washington themed gathering for junior league members at the Bedford Street home featuring parlor games and a luncheon. Isila received compliments on hosting, with grateful young attendees.
The Ladies of the first M I church hosted a Washington's Birthday gathering entertaining many guests with an impromptu program. There was no formal address, reflecting a birthday party mood. Refreshments were dainty and plentiful, with candied cherries on the cake.
Mrs A B Ruby entertained the West Ind Domino Glib at her West Reed street home on the anniversary of Washington’s birth. Elaine Sims won dominoes as flags and Washington imagery adorned the room. Also played blow ball and crafted a Washington necklace from gum. a fruit salad cake and coffee spread followed.
The Sisters of Loretto hosted a Mayflower Hall bazaar with an elegant 66 o'clock dinner drawing hundreds. Today hundreds enjoyed turkey dinner with side lines. a quarter price meal is planned tonight and tomorrow. Proceeds expected to be substantial as the event continues through tomorrow with dances and drawings each night.
Moberly residents mourn the death of Mary Reed's spouse from pneumonia in Independence Colorado. The body goes to Mayfield Kentucky for burial as Ollia Reed travels to Kentucky for the funeral. The couple recently married in Mayfield where Mary worked as a millinery trimmer.
Bernice Everding daughter of Mrs. Geo Everding entertained twelve birthday guests yesterday from 2 to 6 pm in honor of her fourth birthday. The children enjoyed a delicious lunch around five o clock and Bernice received many nice remembrances, making this fourth anniversary especially happy.

Attendees received slips with a single scripture line and tried to match it to a neighbor's slip, causing much merriment. A light luncheon concluded the event.
