Foss, a 20 year old man in Taswell Indiana, bragged a woman never kissed him. Six society girls planned a kissing bee in Main Street. A melee cooled the boasting with six arrests for assault and battery. Foss swore warrants and faces court as public leans toward acquittal for the women.
Former Moberly railroad worker Gav W Stoneman of Longstreet received a telegram from St Joseph announcing his brother John J Stoneman had died at noon. John, 18 years old, was married with four children and had worked on westbound and freight trains before moving to a nearby city. Stoneman attended the obituary services set for tomorrow as The Democrat offers sympathy to the family in their bereavement.
