In Boonville Missouri last night a gasoline launch overturned on the river. Mrs Wm Courtney of Sedalia and two daughters plus a visiting young woman died. Nine youths and young women were aboard the party to Chouteau Springs. several escaped injury while attempting to land.
A local ad promises cheap wall paper while a Boonville bridge incident ends in drowning. Mrs Courtney and two daughters die, others rescued from the overturned boat. Names include Miss Roesehel, Miss Heiberger, Ernest Roeschel, and Mr Churchill, with relatives from Sedalia and Boonville.
A two week gap with a home burglary at Goo South Williams street targeted Mr. Martin and his wife of the Little Dick Cyothine. Entry via back window led to a tangle of drawers and missing silverware belonging to the Baptiste church Society. There are no suspects yet. Meanwhile Conductor W. Settles died from injuries after a Wabash train accident. Settles, a ten-year Moberly resident, left behind a widow and two sons Warren and Richard. The season opens with the matinee at Hilloran's Theatre presenting the western drama At Cripple Creek with tickets 2 cents.

A young man, his name withheld for family reasons, appeared before Judge Mor rissey on charges of purloining sane articles from J A Grattan the locksmith. He posted bond to appear for trial on August 23.
