James Rice of Renick and Miss Nora O'Donnell of Yates were married in Huntsville with Rev. Weddle officiating. Attendants were Alfred Wipnal and Pearl O'Donnel. Afterward the couple toured to Moberly then stayed with relatives and shared supper at the groom's home.
Local shop announces a Julio sale to reduce stock with very low prices on wallpaper. Customers urged to visit for bargain papers and savings on stock items.

In Judge W A Evans court today Pravene awarded to plaintiff J C Foster for a grocery bill of 7 dollars. West Kend Real Estate Investment Co won judgment against Foster for 7 dollars and 59 cents for house rent.

First Vice President Worthington issued circulars naming D.O. Ives general traffic manager for the Wabash Pittsburg Terminal and related lines with headquarters in St. Louis. H.J. Booth becomes general freight agent and W.D. Holliday assistant general freight agent for the same lines. E.B. Coolidge named assistant general freight agent of Wheeling and Lake Erie. J.P. Stark appointed purchasing agent with Pittsburg HQ and in charge of supply and storehouses.
A reception will be tendered this evening to Rev. R. E. Daggar, the new pastor of the First M I Church, and his wife. A fine musical program is planned and refreshments will be served. Ministers of the town and congregation members are expected to attend. Louie Kleher’s bakery on North Beurdeau Street offers fresh bread, pies, and cakes delivered anywhere in the city.
B Curry and wife return from a one month trip in the west expressing pleasure with the journey but greater delight at returning to Missouri the best state of all. They met many Missourians and received hospitality in several cities while noting the west’s sights and people.
Word reaches the Moberty community that carpenter contractor William TP True left town Monday and his whereabouts and return plans are unknown. He built a modern five room cottage on Union Avenue for Fin Oscar Nise, who paid for lumber, leaving about 900 dollars in unsettled bills and other debts. Friends on both sides hope he will return to settle accounts.
John Brock traveled to St Louis last night to confer with parties about securing a patent for his recently invented coal scoop. The contrivance is described as a dandy and a significant improvement over prior devices. Brock’s friends express hope for success and recognition as an inventor.
A D Fielder of Hannibal, long engaged in the stanitoid trade with his father, relocates to Moberly to establish his own contracting business. He lodges with Regineer Pierce at 140 Burlsholder Street. In LaMotte the funeral rites for Tementeda Ushry Lat Matte were held with a large turnout despite rain, reflecting the community’s affection for the deceased.
A three year old daughter of Engineer Harrison on Concannon street injured a finger while playing near a clothes wringer. The injury was severe enough to require a physician’s care. She is now recovering nicely.
Thieves entered the Higbee saloon last night and stole a small sum of money, bottles, and whiskey before escaping. Moberly police were notified to watch for the intruders. J H W Napier, Western Union manager at Higbee, returns from a two week vacation with his sister and niece in Chanute Kansas.
Mrs. D W Embree visited Centralia for the carnival while Dee Embree unveiled new showcases making his store highly metropolitan. Mrs. Kate Deckerson of St Louis visits sister Mrs. W A Martin in South Fifth Street. Mesdames Ed May and R B H Moffett traveled to Brunswick to see Mrs. M G Carter. Fred J McCoy, Geo H Robinson’s nephew, stopped en route from St Louis to Kansas City for a short visit. Y M C A Tennis Club hosts Huntsville club for a tourney on their court with defenders Arthur Chamier Rev John A Ward J B Patterson and J L Snyder.
