O'Shaugnessey Named Private Secretary To Chicago Mayor
Old Moberly native Ames O'Shaugnessey, longtime Chicago Examiner staffer and former Moberly resident, is appointed private secretary to Judge Edward F Dunne, newly elected mayor of Chicago. Born in Moberly, he trained locally and in St Joseph, later reporting for the Chicago Daily News and Chicago Chronicle. Tramp Killed at Brickyard During Wind Storm
An unidentified man died at a brickyard south of town during a severe windstorm last night when bricks toppled a flue. He was found buried by bricks and later removed to an undertaker. Despite efforts, no identification was found. he was described as 5'8" tall, about 200 pounds, with amputated right hand and tattoos on both arms. Some say he rode from a Hannibal freight train yesterday.
