Highly Respected Citizen Dies After Long Life

Temes Hardin Sims a Civil War veteran and Randolph County resident died at his daughter's home in Moberly at 5 25 pm He would have been eighty next month Survived by a daughter Mrs Rolla Rothwell a son Guy Sims two grandchildren and two sisters Funeral services will be at Central Christian Church in Moberly tomorrow at 2 30 pm Burial in Oakland Also notes Wabash president Williams to succeed Kearney as railroad chief with board meetings in Indiana and weekly advisory board in New York.

G I A Members Inspect Mission Day Highlights

The G I A to the B of F national meeting was pass through a systematic inspection today by Mrs Reynolds of Hannibal. The organization made a good showing and the day was pleasant and profitably spent. A notable feature was the noonday dinner enjoyed by the ladies at the Merchant's hotel.

William B Garven Dies At Eighty In Missouri

William B Garven died this morning at 9 20 from his home seven miles southeast of Moberly Missouri aged eighty. He was born to Kentucky parents and farmed all his life later marrying Lydia A Shirley on November 24 1864 and fathering seven children Eugene Armstrong Chas Don and others with two more from a second marriage to Lucy Mason. Funeral set for tomorrow at 2 pm at New Hope Church conducted by Ray W T Henson with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Survivors include his widow and two children Fay Rector and Leonard Garven.

Young couple wed at noon in quiet Moberly ceremony

Lloyd Irons and Miss Anne Phelan exchanged vows at the bride’s home on Williams Street in a simple, family affair attended by relatives and friends. Rev B M Smith officiated. The couple planned to live on the groom’s farm southeast of town after a brief stay in St Louis.

Knights and Ladies Visited Mexico for Initiation Rally

The Knights and Ladies of Security led a drill and initiation in Mexico on Saturday, with a 40 plus team and a home guard from Moberly assisting. Visitors from Mexico Lodge along with groups from Yallacha Fulton and Centralia joined, praising the reception while initiates numbered 25 new members.
