Nearly a quarter of a million attended the World's Pair attractions on Saturday. In politics, President Cleveland backs unconditional repeal. Governor McKinley spoke on tariff in Lawrence Neal’s home. talks on tariff hearings and transport stock ride the news. A Sioux Falls educated billy goat and a column on education round out the items.
Ex-President Harrison lauds a Sunday opening of the Worlds Fair in Chicago as not harming the Sabbath. He argues against boycott threats and compares Sunday and Monday travel, praising the White City as a beneficial spectacle.
