Nora Gaines Called Beyond Life in Iowa Town
Miss Nora Addie Gaines died early this morning at 6 45 in a local hospital from complications of diabetes and appendicitis after recent illness and an appendectomy. Funeral at First Methodist church Friday at 3 o clock conducted by Dr S Hoagland with brief home services at 2 30. She was born near Maquoketa July 9 1888 and moved to Mitchie ll with her parents, attending local schools and the university. Survived by parents Andrew and wife, one brother Herman and three sisters Mary Crospsey Ella Annis Ida McIntosh. Twin brothers died in infancy. Brother Herman Gaines left for Deadwood to serve on a federal grand jury and will attend when released.

Baby Injured In Runaway Near Mitchell Farm
Mrs Charles Kendall and her two small children escaped harm yesterday when a frightened horse bolted the buggy ten miles south of Mitchell. The younger child, a boy, suffered severe head injuries and was unconscious for a period. he is also badly hurt in the legs. The other child was uninjured. Mrs Kendall was driving toward her farm when the horse spooked at an object on the road and the buggy tumbled into a ditch.
