Sioux Falls, Sept 10. A Hi Wheaton state food and dairy commissioner pressed strict compliance by druggists with the new pure food law. He noted enforcement will be heavy but essential to inform consumers, and predicted manufacturers will adapt within a year. He described litigation by the National Stock Food Company to delay enforcement as likely to fail. He urged labeling and warned against unsafe patent medicines harming infants.

In Aberdeen South Dakota on Sept 9 William Wride of Minneapolis was killed in a westbound work car after a quarrel with a fellow worker. Idd Gilmour fired out the window. Walde intervened, then stabbed the unknown man who then shot Walde in the head.
