The Juvenile band of Mitchell received a telegram from the state board of agriculture announcing engagement to perform at least two days at the state fair. The 22-member group, formed last fall, has won prior prizes and will attract crowds from Mitchell. The state fair board, with J. K. Smith and local committee members, laid plans for ample music and expected strong turnout from the city.

Nature Studies Now Taught To Teachers At Court House
Miss Demaree presented her second lecture on Nature Studies to teachers at the court house Thursday evening. A large attentive audience heard guidance on plant life, facts to teach, and methods to build interest. She urged simple, thorough, single-topic teaching and integrating nature study with geography, language, and spelling in all grades.
