New Theory on Hog Cholera Proposed at Mitchel Address
Prof Hilton Iris Jones of Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell spoke at the dedication of the state university’s new chemistry building. He argued hog cholera is a disease of ductless glands secrets and that the virus may be a diseased internal secretion. The talk cited collaboration with the late Prof Henry A Torrey of Harvard. He noted the gallant work unlikely to alter U S Department of Agriculture efforts but could revolutionize treatment if proven correct. The South Dakota State University reports its enrollment at a high, with nearly 300 freshmen and a top notch chemistry facility.
