Train engine drives break at White Lake near Chamberlain
Saturday morning near White Lake the engine on the Mitchell bound train suffered a driving rod break close to the rear drive wheel. The rod shattered in three pieces and struck the cab as the train sped on. Engineer Frank Woodman was severely scalded on one arm by escaping steam. A Mitchell engine was dispatched to bring the train in, arriving about two o'clock. The fireman sustained no injuries.
