Becker Witness Shot On Street In New York
New York City. Big Jack Zelig, a West Side gang leader and prospective Becker witness, was shot and killed Saturday night while riding a Second Avenue trolley. Phillip Davidson confessed to the shooting saying it was revenge. Police question Davidson’s story and investigate whether Zelig was lured by a telephone appointment. In Milwaukee officials confirm Vanderbilt cup and related races will be held there in 1912 and 1914.
