Rustlers visit Yankton to lobby for see city status

Father Maher visited Bishop Marty at his residence in Yankton after arriving by train from Sioux City. They spent hours at the bishop’s home returning late night and departing in the morning. Prairie fire near Paul Page’s area destroys stacks and threatens buildings

Saloon burglars tracked to Bard station and jailed
Sheriff Stanchfield deputy Scott and marshal Durell pursued suspects after a Saturday burglary. They found two men asleep in a hay loft near Bard station and brought them to town. Catholic Fair at Rink Opera House Aims to Aid Mitchell
The Catholic fair opens November 21 at the Rink opera house and runs all week. Committees will canvass Mitchell for valuable articles to auction and for artworks by old masters. Proceeds fund church property to be unincumbered for the bishop’s arrival and the South Dakota Episcopal see. Citizens urged to support and cooperate with the committees.
