Copp's Land Review Urges More Survey Funding and Prompt Land Grants
In Stockslager's report Copp's land review advocates higher surveying appropriations for public lands and cites the failure to survey millions of acres within railroad grants. Congress adjourned without passing land or grant-forfeiture bills, prompting calls for increased office force to handle 280,156 final entries and only 75,600 disposals per year. T. N. Cori notes this as urgent for settlers and local governments.
