Vermillion defeated Brookings in the fourth annual debate between the state university and the agricultural college held in the college chapel. The question asked whether twenty years of US trade union history shows a tendency to harm national interests. Vermillion team Johnson Murphy and Jensen argued the affirmative, while Edith Reeves Crippen and Lyons spoke for the negative. The judges awarded the decision to Vermillion.
