Edgemont, May 2. A Burlington railroad handcar collision near Marietta killed Mrs. Joseph Wilson and Mrs. F P Bittrick while they rode toward Edgemont. The engineer blew warnings but the forward momentum of the heavy freight train prevented avoidance. The coroner's jury investigates as investigators note the women had no section crew status.

Watertown N D April 30 The annual South Dakota national guard encampment will likely start July 10 with a full regiment of regulars sought to join about 1200 men besides the state regiment for what promises to be a top encampment. Camp grounds have been upgraded with new buildings and expanded facilities for large troop maneuvering. The Lake Kampeska site offers ideal military instruction and drill conditions for the Fourth South Dakota.
