Mrs. I. W. Seaman Dies in Chicago Hospital

Mrs. I. W. Seaman died Monday morning in a Chicago hospital from dropsy and heart trouble. She was a devout Methodist, mother of four, and had spent winters in Florida with her husband before returning home. A large funeral service was held at the Methodist church with Rev. Dr. Graham officiating and university students in attendance. Burial followed at Graceland cemetery amid floral tributes and family attendance.

Legislature Moves to License Peddlers and Hawkers

A bill passed to license pack peddlers on foot at 25 to 50 dollars per year and wagon peddlers at 30 to 100 dollars annually, with solicitors for groceries and similar trades at 75 to 125 dollars. Exemptions apply to wholesale runners and farm product peddlers. Violations carry a fine of 25 to 100 dollars.

Milwaukee Road Battles Washouts After Snow Blockade

After clearing snow blockades the Milwaukee road faces washouts. About 1000 feet of track washed near Rock Valley Iowa, a bridge near Calliope is out, and four to five bridges on the Sioux City line are washed. East and south trains abandoned, passengers stranded, repair time and assurances uncertain.
