Sheriff Sale Notice in Davison Territory 1887

The Chicago Stove Works sues A E Allingham in Davison County Territory of Dakota. By order of the Second Judicial District Court the sheriff levies on the northeast quarter of section 24 township 103 range 61 and the southeast quarter of section 14 township 103 range 61. Sale set for April 2 at 2 PM at the Mitchell courthouse to satisfy a judgment of 495 dollars and 0.83 plus interest at 7 percent from January 1887.

Officials seize records in Doodle County probe

In Chicago on March 15, state attorney assistants with six city detectives seized all records and documents from the county commissioners office and the county hospital and asylum. The action, conducted quietly, sent the materials to the grand jury for inspection, catching few suspects by surprise. In Sioux Falls on March 16, Drs. Le Blond and Morgan assisted Dr. Alex Stone in removing a 30 pound ovarian tumor from Mrs. J. M. Dickson, Carson sheriff for six years, who is well after surgery.

Parsons arraigned for disorderly conduct in Columbus

Lucy Parsons wife of the Chicago anarchist was arraigned before the Columbus mayor on a disorderly conduct charge. She was committed with bonds of 300 dollars to keep the peace, unable to post bond, and sent to county jail after a speech to a large crowd claiming liberty’s end.
