Street paving debate and water rate reforms in council
The council began street improvements with a sidewalk petition on Rowley street and prepared for a spring vote on liquor sales. A new water ordinance sets meters and flat $8 minimum, plus tiered rates. Main street paving material options and a creosote-block proposal were discussed with a committee plan involving property owners. Sexton duties extended to ten months, and city hall usage requests were referred. An April 16 election was set with four aldermen and four school board members to be chosen.
