Friday evening at the Mitchell delegation hosted General James Tanner and Mrs. Tanner with Mrs. Abbie Adams. The city hall auditorium packed with G A R and W R C members heard patriotic addresses, stories of Civil War heroism, and praise for veterans and their families. General Tanner recalled his South Dakota visit, spoke of unity, and paid tribute to women’s support and Red Cross efforts.

Sunday morning the Methodist church held Children Day exercises to pageant the work of the little folks. The cradle roll presence and baptisms highlighted the program with Thelma Cassem leading the cradle roll address. About 80 cradle roll members and a collection of just over $14 aided a college fund for needy students.

The state supreme court released Mrs Wmuma Kaufmann on bail set at 25000 with American Surety Company as surety. Prominent citizens provided collateral while Judge Aikens remained in Pierre until the ruling and orders reached Sioux Falls. She will be moved from jail to her home this morning.
