At Union Stock Yards Chicago this Thursday hog receipts estimated 30 000 with prices mostly 5 cents lower than prior. Bulk prices range 8.45 to 8.60 for most hog types while pigs bring 6.60 to 8.30. Cattle receipts about 17 000 with prices 10 cents lower on bees cows and steers around 6.30 to 9.20. Sheep and lambs also softer with native and western flocks quoted about 4.70 to 7.40 for various grades.
