Mitchell Struck by Severe Cloudburst and Flood Damage
A Friday morning cloudburst drenched Mitchell and surrounds with four to seven inches of rain in forty five minutes. Streets flooded, basements filled, properties damaged, and several barns blown down. The business district suffered water damage to shops, offices, and homes while sewers and catch basins struggled to cope. No mass casualties reported, but infrastructure and livestock losses noted.
