Rain Delivers Helpful Boost to Central Eastern Dakota Corn
A soaking rain from 5 a.m. for about 40 minutes dropped half an inch, the heaviest shower in months, aiding early corn growth in central eastern Dakota. The rainfall, fairly general across nearby towns, will boost soil moisture and likely yield thousands of dollars in benefits to the region’s agricultural interests. In Pierre the nearly inch rainfall across the state’s central Missouri valley is seen as beneficial to corn, pasture and hay but late for small grain.
