Pierre promoter S H C Bartow calls Western South Dakota residents to a July 16 Fort Pierre meeting to organize a major irrigation scheme. Engineers map a route from Buford North Dakota through Schafer Dickinson Morristown to White River, with a split to feed Philip Kadoka and Stony Butte before final discharge. The project aims to reduce Mississippi floods while boosting year round irrigation, backed by the Presto Fort Pierre Commercial club. Bartow plans to retire to devote himself to the scheme.
