Endum is an inventor and former engineer for O Donohue coffee mills now living at 330 West 19th Street New York.
Oyster Bay, July 16. John Pranklin kept twenty seven brook trout in a beer tank at his saloon. Four quarter kegs were dumped in at 7 pm and the trout went berserk splashing and fighting. One trout died. others bumped kegs and swam oddly as a bunged quarter contained no beer and released water.
Two alleged confidence men, Henry Somerfield and Charles Moran, sought by New York authorities, live near Willow Grove, Philadelphia. They drive a fine team, frequent Willow Grove park, and were seen with two stylish women during a recent visit. Their earlier arrest in Philadelphia caused a citywide sensation.
In Kishinef on July 1, a gardener confessed to killing the boy Doubassary, a crime blamed on Jews and tied to a local massacre. He said he and the boy’s uncle committed the crime, and Prince Urusoff, Kishinef’s new governor, had meetings with city Jewish leaders.
Chicago July 16 Freight handlers at Chicago warehouses were ordered by President Curran to receive all freight regardless of source. Twenty two men fired for handling Kellogg Switchboard freight will return to work, as teamsters refuse to join a sympathy strike. Curran says freight workers must receive all cargo to avoid federal court involvement.
Nearly 1,000 miners at Robey coal works in Adena Ohio quit after foreigners allegedly ousted American officials and placed managers of their own nationality. Arrests of ex-President Steener and Committeemen Boyle and Carter followed on embezzlement charges, with bail posted. Meanwhile in Youngstown Ohio, a wage conference raised puddling rates from 6.12 to 6.25 for two months affecting 30,000 mill workers.

A Sunday night clash at Bonita three miles from Fort Grant involved men of Troop I and M and Troop H of the Fourteenth United States Cavalry. Revolvers carbines knives and slingshots were used. Seidensticker of Troop I was fatally wounded in the groin and Trumpeter Davis of Troop M was shot through both thighs. About fifty men implicated. causes and identities uncertain.
Reports from the orient say the U S gunboat Callao chases pirate bands after capturing a Chinese crew member. Pirates threatened to kill the prisoner unless $9 000 was paid. Callao skirmished with several bands and located six parties. The Chinese government plans to deploy a gunboat and soldiers to Canton area to wipe out the outlaws.

A tornado eight miles north of Cozad Nebraska yesterday afternoon killed Samuel Henry and injured two children and Mr and Mrs Griffiths and a nurse Miss Anderson. The Griffiths residence was destroyed along a northwest to southeast path ten miles long three miles wide with substantial property and crop losses estimated at $100000.
Joseph Howarth, 650, shot and killed his wife Bertha at their Chicago home early today. Hours later he was to appear in police court on threats to kill his wife connected to domestic difficulties. After confirming her death he fatally shot himself.
