Dakota Fine Stock Breeders Meet at Madison Deepens State's Stock Drive
The Dakota Fine Stock Breeders Association held a two day Madison meeting August 29–30 with about thirty members present. They elected new members, discussed public sales of pure bred stock, and planned fairs with railways to aid circuiting. A banquet honored the group, and Madison was praised as the Athens of the new northwest. A Dakota Land and Cattle Company was formed with a $500,000 capital to raise 5,000 cattle, offering shares to smallholders and promising lower costs and freight advantages.
