Forty Quarter Sections to Michigan Tenant Plan Faces Debate
The Mitchell Republican reports C G Church of Watertown selling forty South Dakota quarter sections to James Turner of Lansing Michigan who will place a farmer on each plot. Alexandria Journal argues the plan risks tenancy while Sioux Falls Press and Watertown Public Opinion counter that many tenants were single men and most loans are sound with over 3,000 quarters financed and occupants content and paying.
