Aberdeen South Dakota November 30 reports a sensational Edmunds County murder. Frederick Meier and wife quarreled at their son in law John Bittermans home near Bowdle on November 19. Meier stabbed his wife with a jackknife causing fatal wounds and died the next day. Meier held for December term while coroner’s jury cites penetrating wound in the left abdominal cavity.

Foreign rabbits to be shipped from South Dakota

In Sioux Falls a contract with a French firm calls for 10 000 field rabbits to be supplied by Haughton for a Sioux Falls business. Hundreds will hunt rabbits statewide for sport and profit while another French company plans to import several thousand guinea hens marketed as Brenneh grouse to France with feathers on.

Tragic Car Yard Accident Leaves Worker Dead

Robert Konantz a 31 year old Milwaukee car repairer was crushed between two moving cars at Aberdeen on the Milwaukee line. An inquest blamed his own carelessness for not placing a red light on the end of the train. He left a widow and child, and carried life insurance.

Indian lands probated in Crow Creek reservation sale planned

About fifty Indian estates in Buffalo county on the Crow Creek reservation are to be probated and sold under Interior Department orders. Deeds will be issued to buyers when sale approval is granted. First sales of four tracts were held at the Crow Creek agency last Saturday with more offerings to follow. Other notes mention dipping tanks aiding cattle, good weather aiding farmers and stockmen, and strong winter feed. In Aberdeen, William Oehler lost an arm after his sleeve caught in a shredder, requiring amputation.
