Vaccination Order Issued by Mitchell Board of Health
Mitchell Board of Health resolves all city residents and students with homes elsewhere must be vaccinated for smallpox before October 1 1901 unless a physician certifies prior infection or vaccination in the past three years. The board calls cooperation from schools college officers and Faculty and assigns a Health officer to confer with the county board. A fine of ten to one hundred dollars applies for noncompliance. The measures were approved and published August 26 1901 by Secretary H McCormick.
