The Railroad Strikes At Lafayette and Peoria
The Lake Erie strike creates tension as nine prisoners are reported. Two freight trains were sent out under guard with armed men atop flats but were stopped by police. One train moved briefly in the yard before being halted. Several new workers were sworn in and arrested. no trains moved at Lafayette. Lightning kills Mrs Peterson during storm in Wormincros
In Wormincros Minnesota on August 22 during a severe rain and electric storm Mrs. Peterson wife of E L Peterson of Bigelow township was struck by lightning and killed instantly while she slept beside her husband who was stunned. Three children were also partially stunned.
