City eyes new theater with 1100 seats and city ownership
The proposal outlines remodeling the Gale theater to seat 1100, up from 1050, financed by a syndicate loan repaid from rent income. Because the city would own the building, taxes would not rise, and insurance would be modest. A lease to lenders could cover debt, reducing daily costs for events. A modest property value increase is noted by the state commission.
