A local secretary invites entries and premium lists for a charity exhibit in Huron South Dakota. The blurb touts Electric Bitters as a malaria cure with testimonials and a price of 50 cents, guaranteed by Diehl & Brown.
Miss Blanche Maxon daughter of Mr and Mrs RE D Saxon former residents of Mitchell married John Bert Graham of Sandusky Ohio in a ceremony described as sweet and impressive. The couple had previously lived in Sioux City and Mobile Alabama according to the Mobile Register.
The bride wore lavender messaline trimmed in lace and guests later dined with the couple before their bridal trip. They left on a 4 16 train for Pass Christian for a two week stay, then return to Mobile before visiting the groom's relatives in Sandusky Ohio. Mr Graham directs the conservatory at Hiram College in Ohio and the couple will reside in Hiram. Mrs Graham is the daughter of Mr and Mrs E D Maxon and hails from Sioux City Iowa.
A vintage advertisement warns idleness harms health causing constipation headaches jaundice and poor complexion. It touts Dr King’s New Life Pills as a cure to liver troubles and boosts health, priced 25 cents at Diehl and Brown.
At a Monday meeting Aberdeen city council approved two additional saloon licenses, bringing the total to 27 for the northern town. The Brown County state attorney warns saloonkeepers to obey the law after past violations of closing by 11 PM and Sunday hours. Several arrests have been made with more to follow, to be tried at the October term.
