Springfield Ohio August 6 A creditors committee reports the Whitely Fassler Kelley firm liabilities 3 138 775 including 700 000 in accommodation paper from K Starper of the failed Fidelity Bank. Assets total about 1 027 700 comprising accounts bills receivable stock and expected seasonable receipts.
Lieut. F. A. Dawes becomes captain of the Redfield militia, succeeding A. L. Lott who resigns to take rank as major of the First regiment D. N. G. The unit, under Dawes, is expected to keep its strong reputation as one of the territory’s best.
Mrs. John Mizl of near Springfield fought off Corky Cosgrove who attacked her on a lonely Newark road. Cosgrove fled toward Springfield but was cornered by constables Huff Ford after a pursuit featuring onlookers. Mizl sustained severe scratches but marked Cosgrove before his recapture. he recently left prison for an assault in Orange Valley.

A street excavation cave in Camorron Ohio this morning killed Abner Beadle instantly and fatally injured L Starck, both noted citizens. Rescue efforts were swift but Beadle did not survive. Starck remains in serious condition under medical care.
