Kubelik Buys Great Estate in Hungary
Violinist Jan Kubelik has purchased an immense estate at Zigmond-Haza in Hungary for 1 200 000 crowns about 240 000 dollars. The castle and vast forest lands represent a branch of the Hohenlohe family with Prince Chlodewig Hohenlohe previously owning it. Forest values have risen sharply in Austria Hungary since the war, making the purchase likely advantageous as forests were depleted by conflict and military use.
