Frank A Benedick died at St Marys infirmary in St Louis on Saturday September 2 at 6 40 am from pneumonia after an operation. Born May 9 1837 in Lorraine Germany he came to America in 1851 settling in St Clair county Illinois. He married Maria Muench in 1860. nine children were born, four surviving. He later married Martha Muenic in 1901. He moved to the area in Belleville in 1663 and ran a 4 acre farm near Marshall. Funeral services were held at Mt Henrys church East St Louis then at St Peters church. pallbearers listed.

Survived by one sister Miss T T Hunter of this city. remains brought to her home Tuesday morning. Funeral held Tuesday at 2 30 p m at the Hunter home and burial followed at Ridge Park cemetery beside his parents.

Jett Giles, a col., died at his father's home near the North school building on Sept. 19 of consumption after a long illness. He returned from Kansas City two months ago and had been very low since. A 21 year old single man, he was active and industrious and a member of the U. B. PF. Lodge which cared for his funeral Sunday. His remains rest in Fairview cemetery.

Bad Accident Near Sweet Springs Road
On a dark night Friday the Hunt family and J. W. Wilcox rode home from the Sweet Springs Street fair when a team of mules and a wagon plunged off a steep embankment near the Tom Road on Blackwater. The wagon overturned, one mule was badly crippled, and all occupants suffered scratches and bruises with Mrs Hunt pinned beneath the wagon. none suffered serious injury.
