Mrs. Mary Crouch of Saline County died at her home nine miles east of Marshall on Wednesday September 4 at 2 p.m due to heart trouble. She leaves three children Nettie Crouch Elith Gibson and Bernard H Crouch. husband Henry Crouch preceded her in death. She was married in England and later moved here building strong ties in the community. Funeral held Thursday morning at the residence and burial followed in Ridge Park Cemetery.

Saline Hosts Anti Single Tax Meeting at Court House
A large Saline crowd gathered at the courthouse to oppose the single tax amendment. A. J. Haynes opened the meeting with D. D. Duggins as temporary chair, and a formal organization was formed with Col V. V. Huff and A. M. Guthrey added as secretary and treasurer.
