Funeral was at 11 a m Friday, burial in Fairview cemetery. Also noted is the death of Mary Crosa Firemonth at 25 after illness. she was the daughter of J T Cross of Gilliam and widow of the Ven Dome Hotel proprietor who ran the hotel for years.

Funeral held for Gilliam resident with church services
A Gilliam resident was laid to rest after a funeral at the Baptist church led by Rev. E Norvell. The deceased had been away on business and was a member of the local tint church. Her remains were returned to Gilliam for burial, and the family received community sympathy.

Martha Judith Cheatham Dies in Gilliam. Long Life of Service
Mrs Martha Judith Cheatham born May 8 1928 in Buckingham County Virginia was one of thirteen Ayres siblings and widow of M C Cheatham. She passed after months of illness at 12 25 a m October 15 1910 at age 82 years five months leaving eleven children, nine living. Her Christian life left a fragrance of goodness. Gilliam Globe notes her active usefulness.

Mrs Angie Kohlar Dies At 22 In Grand Pass
Angie Kohlar of Grand Pass died at home at age 22 after long illness. Funeral services were held at her grave with minister Rev Dowdy aiding in baptism and church membership. A large group of women and men from three local churches helped with food clothing and funeral costs for two caskets.

Joe Stevens, formerly of Sedalia, has bought a 51 acre farm four miles southeast of Vandalia at 65 dollars per acre. He visited Perry, Vandalia, Perryville, and nearby places with Wm Spencer.
