Joseph Clyde, a longtime Saline resident and one of the county's wealthiest men, died Monday morning at his son John's home near Malta Bend after a brief illness of acute indigestion at age 69. Survived by two sons John and Frank Clyde of Malta Bend and daughter Mrs. Geo Hazen of Armstrong, he was born in Ross County Ohio and moved to Saline County early. A thrifty, energetic farmer, his estate is among the county's largest. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Clyde homestead with burial in Salt Springs cemetery.
