Andrew Jackson McRoberts was born March 1, 1630 in Ross County Ohio and died aged 62 years on September 27. He and Mary P. Sisk married in Ohio, moved to Missouri in 1856, lived near Malta Bend, and had thirteen children and five grandchildren. A devoted Methodist, he served 30 years at Malta Bend and Laynesville, with a model home and community leadership. Funeral was held at Malta Bend MBE Church with interment in the Malta Bend cemetery.

Walter H Gross Killed In Railroad Car Crash
Walter H Gross a 54 year old Tacoma construction foreman for Tacoma Eastern railroad died instantly when a hand car he rode collided with a construction train near LaGrande. Ten laborers escaped. Gross was thrown 20 feet and died of a fractured skull. Survived by widow and son Walter Glenn Gross. He belonged to First Presbyterian Church and several Masonic bodies. Body sent to Hoska Buckley King Co for funeral arrangements.
