His Last Sermon to Leave for St Joseph

Reverend F A Mehl of Blackburn who has preached monthly in German here has accepted a call to St Joseph. He will return next Sunday afternoon to preach his last sermon at the Episcopal church and will not resume work in Saline with a sermon in Blackburn the following Sunday.

Misery Lire forgery dismissed. Christopher Lakin pleads guilty to assault with intent to commit. fined £25 and costs. William Simpson pleads guilty to stealing at night and is jailed. N B Wright murder first degree set for Jan 29. Jos Kiso pleads guilty to common assault. $25 fine. Bernice Brown burglary and larceny sentenced to five years reform school. Leave bill of exception till Jan 1. Brown described as a colored boy from Slater. Ray Thixton burglary and larceny dismissed.

Tired of Life Ends Action by Gilliam Doctor

Dr. R. Wilson aged about 80 in poor health attempted suicide at his Gilliam home last week by Morphine overdose. He was found unconscious and revived after hours of medical effort. He had written a letter saying he was tired of life.

Damages Awarded in Cox Docket for Mrs Cox

Mrs. Sarah Cox, plaintiff, was awarded 4250 damages after a case in which Emery Brown testified as a witness in Kansas City. The incident recalled occurred about four years ago when her 16 year old son was killed near the C A depot after a train backed into his wagon. Attorney R B Ruff represented Mrs Cox.

Postmaster Robbed at River ton ls and cured by bitters

Postmaster Robbed at River ton ls reports loss of comfort and nearly his life. A letter claims chronic liver complaint caused jaundice with yellow fingernails before Electric Bitters cured him and kept him well for eleven years. The drug is sold at P Fraskilo Drug store for 50 cents.

Train Robber Captured After Glasgow Hold Up

Clyde Randall aka Claud Randel, 20, from Missouri, attempted a second robbery on a Wabash route train after a prior Slater theft. He looted passengers in the smoking car, was subdued by conductor E B Heywood, and held at Marshall awaiting trial for a Saline county robbery. He claims a brother led the gang, and authorities describe him as small, quick, with dark complexion, and to be tried in March 1907.
